The short version

Paintform is a drawing app built by artists, for artists. We built it to be private by default — the kind of tool where your work is yours and nobody is looking over your shoulder. This policy explains, plainly, what the Paintform app and our related services do and don't do with your information. "Paintform," "we," "us" and "our" refer to the makers of Paintform.

1. Information the app collects

Nothing. The Paintform desktop and mobile app is designed to run entirely on your device. It contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs, and it does not send your files, drawings, or usage to us or to any third party.

Your content stays local

All of the following are stored locally on your device (and in any folders or locations you choose to save to): your artwork and .pform documents, exported images, your brush library and settings, and your time-lapse recordings. We have no access to any of it, and it is never uploaded to us.

2. Purchases & in-app unlocks

Paintform is a one-time purchase, and some editions offer an in-app unlock. All payments are processed by the app store you bought from (for example, Apple's App Store) under that store's own terms and privacy policy. We receive only the limited information the store provides to developers — such as aggregated, anonymized sales figures and a transaction receipt used to validate your purchase and unlock features on your device. We never receive your full name, credit-card number, or billing address.

3. Diagnostics & crash reports

Paintform does not include its own crash-reporting or telemetry. If you have separately opted in to sharing diagnostics with your platform (for example, Apple's "Share with App Developers" setting), the platform may provide us with anonymized, aggregated crash reports to help us fix bugs. This information does not identify you, and sharing it is entirely your choice, controlled in your device settings.

4. App store & platform data

When you download, purchase, or update Paintform, the platform you use (Apple, and in the future other app stores) may collect information about that transaction under its own privacy policy. That data is controlled by the platform, not by us. Please review the relevant policy — for example, Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Our website

Our website at paintform.com offers an optional email waitlist. If you choose to submit your email address, we store it — through our email provider — for the sole purpose of sending you Paintform news and launch updates. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we will delete your address on request. We do not sell or share it, and the site uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs (which can include IP addresses and browser type) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to identify or profile you and are rotated and deleted on a routine basis.

6. Community forum

If you create an account on our community forum at forum.paintform.com, that service (built on Discourse) stores the information needed to run a forum account: your email address, username, any profile details you add, your posts, and technical data such as IP addresses used for security and spam prevention. Anything you post publicly is, by nature, public. You can edit your profile, request your data, or ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting us.

7. What we do not collect

To be explicit, the Paintform app does not collect any of the following:

Location data Contacts Browsing history Advertising identifiers Health or fitness data Financial or payment data Your artwork or files Usage analytics

8. Children's privacy

Paintform is a general-audience creativity tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). Because the app collects no personal information, it does not knowingly collect anything from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our website or forum, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights & choices

Because the app keeps your data on your own device, you stay in control: deleting a file or uninstalling the app removes that data. For information you have given us directly — your waitlist email or forum account — you may request access to it, correction, or deletion at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access and delete your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, just email us.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Paintform grows and as new features ship. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Significant changes will be highlighted where practical.
